Day 11 - Solo Darkroom with Daniel (he/him)


🐽 Yohoooo! A sweet day to all Subtle Selflovers & Cosmic Clubkids! 🐽

Today on Day 11, I invite you to open a SOLO DARKROOM in the comfort of your own locked-down home!

This journey will be a meditation on Club Culture as well as an opportunity to meet yourself as "just another body". You are invited to explore darker Desires and to encounter boundless Eros.

TW 🌺 The spoken instructions include mentioning of genitals and arousal, as well as moments where my voice and breath are erotically charged. There is techno music and, yeah, the full package of Berlin club life. You are invited to take responsibility for yourself and only follow those instructions that speak to you or to skip this practice altogether, if the idea of a space for anonymous sex and the erotic charge and fantasies that comes along with it make you feel uncomfortable or just don't speak to you. Darkness is not mandatory for this practice, see below. 🐛 It might become psychedelic... 🍄


🐩 PREPARATIONS 🐩

∞ The proposal is to turn your room or another room in your flat into a totally lightproof space. Use stuff like gaffer tape and fabric to close the window and door so that you can be in this room with open eyes and still don't see anything but darkness. It's worth it, believe me.

∞ Additionally, have a small source of light in that room, like a little LED light or a lamp with a red tshirt on top or a small candle.

∞ If total darkness doesn't feel right, you can just leave that light burning or switch it on when needed.

∞ Another option is to have a lightproof blindfold and just imagine to be in a dark room. This might be easiest and a safer option in case darkness is a challenge.

∞ Make sure that the room is warm.

∞ Prepare your body in a juicy way: wear cute underwear, or your fav fetish gear, get oiled up, lubed up, work out before and come sweaty... whatever arouses you 💋

Another important instruction that I am not mentioning enough in the audio:

👀Keep Your Eyes Open in The Dark! 👀

...the impulse to close our eyes because "there is nothing to see" is very much wired into our brain, so keep reminding yourself to have your eyes open, to stay clear, awake, don't fall asleep.👣


🐒 A last note on the setting: this is an attempt to source a utopian scenario of free expression from an existing cultural phenomenon, a darkroom. This reference might bring up memories and also learned patterns around sexuality. I encourage you to breathe through those, acknowledge them, but not be determined or limited by them. Unlike most often irl, this space is not about goal orientation, expectations of reaching a climax or a fixation on gentials. At the same time genitals and climaxes are not excluded. Just not necesaarily centered.
